15 Aug End of Summer Celebrations with Sparklers
In August I always think of my favorite passage from Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit.
“The first week of August hangs at the very top of summer, the top of the live-long year, like the highest seat of a Ferris wheel when it pauses in its turning.”
August is a time to say goodbye to summer and welcome in fall. What better way to say goodbye to summer than a party? When the kids are still out of school and adults are easily inclined to socialize.
Here are a couple theme ideas for your end of summer party:
1. Lawn parties – Kick open the cooler and turn on the grill – it is time to bask in the last of the summer sun. Enjoy backyard games like corn whole and make a craft table for the kids.
- White linen events – Need a reason to wear that new white dress before labor day? Here is the perfect time to throw on white and feel chic around close ones. Get the latest gossip over summer cocktails and watch the sunset.
- Pool parties – The easiest event if there is already a pool in the backyard or maybe rent a large water slide. Water fun isn’t just for kids, go get your own fun and splash around.
The possibilities are endless. August is when time can unusually stand still and we are not in rush like the holidays. There are a couple of weeks to prepare for school and kids are counting down their last days of summer. It is a time to gather around loved ones and friends just because you can. And at the end of the night be sure to say your final goodbyes by sending everyone off with sparks. Sparklers are a great way to give the crowd a night to remember!
