A Moment in Time – Wedding Planning and Videography
Maggie Titterington has been in the wedding business a wedding coordinator and videographer since 1998. Maggie feels that being organized is a great asset to being a great coordinator but also having a feel for the people she works with. "It's very important to understand where the client is coming from in terms of theme and style but also where they are coming from as a person. What are their likes and dislikes? What makes them laugh? Getting to know my clients on a personal level makes me a more effective coordinator". American Pyrotechnics Association
The APA is the premier trade association of the fireworks industry. The APA was founded in 1948. The APA encourages safety in the design and use of all types of fireworks; provides industry information and support to members; and promotes responsible regulation of the fireworks industry.

The National Council on Fireworks Safety
The National Council on Fireworks Safety is a charitable organization whose mission is to educate the public on the safe and responsible use of fireworks. Based in Washington, D.C., the National Council works closely with retailers and manufacturers of fireworks on a national basis. Additionally, the Council, through its relationships with trade organizations like the American Pyrotechnics Association, and safety organizations like the American Fireworks Standard Laboratory, is very proactive in maintaining high standards in the manufacture and sale of fireworks.

Photographing Fireworks
As much fun as they are to watch, fireworks are equally as challenging to photograph. Working on the Mall gives the Smithsonian's staff photographers on-going opportunities to capture these events on film, and to test and improve their individual photographic techniques. Although their individual techniques may vary, the Smithsonian photographers all have some basic recommendations.
